Boston Medical Center’s Halloween Town Brings Dan Zanes, Energy Star and Halloween Fun to Boston for the Fifth Year!
Presented by iParty to benefit BMC’s Kids Fund, Halloween Town keeps every child’s favorite holiday frighteningly fun!
BOSTON – Where do you take the kids when they want to get all dressed up in crazy costumes, put lots of make-up on their faces – and have a whole lot of fun in a safe place? If you’ve attended Halloween Town in past years, you know you want to be at Boston’s largest Halloween celebration when it returns to the Seaport World Trade Center for its fifth year in a row on October 24- 25. Presented by iParty and benefiting Boston Medical Center, Halloween Town’s hair-raising antics and fun entertainment will once again include Grammy-award winning musical guests Dan Zanes and Friends, named The Crown Prince of contemporary kids’ music by People Magazine, who will perform multiple concerts throughout the weekend.
While Dan Zanes takes the main stage, the rest of the Seaport World Trade Center will be transformed into a 70,000 square-foot haunted town for toddlers to 12 year olds. Interactive games and kid friendly activities include:
· Interact with a “real” ghost
· Meet & Greets with favorite characters from movies, books and cartoons
· LazerTag
· Children can also listen to their favorite tales in the MonsterPiece Theater
· iParty Birthday Lab
· Pepsi Monster Midway
· Haunted Mine
· Farmers Market
· The Swamp
All zones are “scare rated” providing fun for all ages. Halloween Town is also packed with great entertainment including jugglers, dancers, and fabulous musicians. With over 15,000 guests last year and more than 120,000 pieces of candy given away it is sure to become this year’s highlight for all ages from toddlers to ‘tweens.
Also, this year Halloween Town is one of four stops that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is making on the Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Campaign Tour. Visitors will be encouraged to explore the Tour Exhibit House, brought to Halloween Town in partnership with National Grid. Kids could meet some “spooky characters” who may or may not be “green,” but visitors will also learn a lot about how to make their homes – and budgets – more energy efficient with EPA’s ENERGY STAR Program and National Grid.”
“Halloween Town is a fun and safe environment to celebrate Halloween with young children and families,” said Sal Perisano, CEO of iParty, the presenting sponsor of Halloween Town. “The big winners from Halloween Town are families and the BMC’s Kids Fund. Families have a great time and the Kids Fund gets the support it needs to continue its mission.”
The Kids Fund at BMC has been assisting Boston’s neediest children with many basic items- from clothing and mattresses, to providing babies with formula– since 1984. More than 25,000 children receive care at BMC, and they are among the neediest population in the Boston area. The fund also supports other BMC programs including the Preventive Food Pantry and Demonstration Kitchen, the Medical-Legal Partnership for Children and the Child Witness to Violence Project.
